fuel injection.....

fuel injection.....

was there a honda engine made with only a single point of fuel injection? like at the throttle plate....?

no that I can think of...they had carbs, dpfi and mpfi...no TBI that I can think of

anyone else? I think there was back in the 3rd gen(in Japan) but I'm unsure...

nope... not that I can think of. Even so, it'd be hell trying to get 3rd gen parts from Japan. I mean, they'd be long gone and crushed over there. you can adapt another TBI system to this engine, but why? Carbs are so much cooler.

agreed carbs are cool ...

however the way I understand Smokey's hot air system the reason for the turbo was to stop a simple fact of physics...

hot air expands... this expansion would cause reversion right to the carb and from my understanding the reverse flow of air to the carb wrecks it. so to keep the air moving in one direction he added an Atomizer.... so that air is forced to move in one direction.....

so a single fuel injector placed before the heating system would do the same thing (I think) it would mix in the air and not have to worry about the expansion of the gas ... hence I could remove the turbo from the system and see if just the heating of the air fuel mixture creates similar results....
