<<< fuel filter change>>>

Okay

I need to know all the steps involved when changing a fuel filter on a D16Y7, and on a 1-10 scale how hard it is ( 10 being the hardest)

Or would it just be better to have a shop do it for me

THanks

punkindrublic 17-Jul-2003 05:35 PM

i dont think its overly hard... its just a little thing under the hood... i think

imported_gatherer 17-Jul-2003 05:43 PM

only think you have to worry about is a bit of fuel that will spill out ......

Quick_CX 17-Jul-2003 05:47 PM

easy..like my ex girfriend

If you can unbolt a nut - you can replace your fuel filter. Do some searches online...there are a few "How-to's"

Yeah but I'd rather have someone that has done it on the same car as mine tell me. That and by posting on here I'm getting the info to come to me :D

little black thing on your pass side firewall... next to the battery, had a bolt at the top and a hose that says FUEL on it going to the fuel rail. Remove the bolts from that thing until it falls out... :p then put the new one in there, replace any bolts you removed, maybe install a pressure gauge while you are at it... you can use orange teflon tape to seal if you are worried about leaks.... turn the key to ACC a bunch of times and let the pump prime... then start the car. Celebrate by drinking gin and sending cash to bbarbulo, PO box 203894... k?

punkindrublic 18-Jul-2003 12:16 PM

how often should the fuel filter be changed?

imported_cet_civic 18-Jul-2003 12:47 PM

punkindrublic 18-Jul-2003 12:53 PM

That's cool, it was a while back.

The girl that I was with @ DKN on Sunday I've been going out with for over 2 yrs, so I'm not heart broken or anything :bounce:

Hey Bruno,

you mentioned that you'll have to replace the bolts after changing the filter.... now do you mean replace the existing ones with new ones ... or put the old ones back into place?

stupid question but you can never be too causcious.

is there a performance fuel filter out there (K&N) ??
How much would one cost and would it even make a difference?

thanks
