front driver knocking/rattlling/popping

the noise is kinda hard to describe...but i jus installed my lowering springs and on the front driver side of the car i can hear a popping kinda knocking noise...it happens when i slowdown to stop and when the weight of the car leans forward then back...i also hear it when i takeoff....i havent really noticed the noise at anyother speeds, but i can kinda hear somethin when i turn to the left..

none of the bolts were seized, all OEM parts....
could it be the top hat wasnt seated on the spring/shock properly?

hahaha i got that exact same problem on mystock 99 gs-r...i took it to 3 mechanics...problem was the stablizer bars arent greasy nemore so they make that sound...try sitting in ur car without it moving and have a friend push up and down on ur driver side front...if it makes that noise then thats most likely your problem but check it out to be sure with a mechanic

if your cars makes a noise while ppushing up and down on one corner I'd say your lower ball joint is toast ..... I had the same noise ... got it replaced and noise disappeared...

naw...its none of those...
ithought it was the CV but i got a free check done and they say its probably the brakepads shifting around.

do u ya think it would be the springs not seated properly?

no.... springs only rattle (if they are coilover springs) when you remove the wieght from that corner allowing them to fully extend and the shock as well resulting in something called spring slop..

check your brake pads if they are low remove them and replace with new ones... if your rotor is thin replace that too

Hey does this sound like the same problem? I am getting mine from the front passenger side. I hear this kinda knocking, metal thud. IT happens when I shift and the weight of the car shifts from front to back. I don't hear it while I am driving normally, but anytime the car jerks a bit from either shifting or letting off the gas I hear the sound. I just got the Axel changed because it was leaking. Sound like the same thing Domani_EL? If so let me know what your solution was. Mine wasn't making any noise until after I did my swap
