Flood help

If a car has been in a flood or was dumped in a lake, what must i do for it to run again? I desperately need to know any information on this as there is a car i want to buy. How expensive is it to get the car running again? PLease let me know asap.thanks.

if the engine still turns over then its not that hard just disassembline alot of stuff and cleaning it out like fuel tank and lines, oil pan , tranny all fluids should be drained if it has been sitting for more than a month then i wouldn't buy it everything will be RTF !!!!!!!!

Unless you pay dirt cheap for it and just salvage some useful parts off of it. Or slowly rebulid it as a project car, otherwise, don't bother.

yes i do. its a 350z and its going for someting like $8000ish. Nothing wrong except that it was in a flood. Everything looks mint in and out. But it doesn't start.

haha... $8000 paperweight

the engine wouldn't be hard to start, I could do that.... it would be getting everything else to work that would be pure hell.

like SRS control module, PCM, deck, HVAC controls, ABS control box, Traction control box (if applicable)... just the computers alone prolly total over $5000 USD from the dealer. Assuming you dry up all the sensors and wiring and it all happens to work.
