correct me if i'm wrong, but doesnt honda provide their own brand of synthetic as well for some extra $$$?

not trying to jack the thread.

yes honda does have their own line of fluids. if they don't have synthetic, you have to bring in your own.

VW and other germans did this scam, they use 5W40 oil which for a long time was a proprietary synth formula, and there was no other place to get it than the dealer.... like they had a patent or something with one other oil co, so they made a killing off poor bastards who bought german cars... finally the patent ran out and Castrol, Mobil1, and Shell all make synthetic 5W40 now at about 8-9 dollars per liter.
