low compression? read here...

just to maybe ease your mind about what you are doing, not saying that 11:1 is going to be easy but getting a thicker head gasket is in my oppinion a retarded thing to do. you are increasing the quench which is the last thing you want to do in a boosted engine....same as a block guard...that leads to over heating and then BOOM! but just my oppinion right....and that is one thing wou will get plenty of in your quest. i know a guy with an Endyn modded jrsc who is runnung 12psi on a stock type r engine and he is a very happy individual...

good read.

Boost + high compression = fun
Boost + low compression = fun and a little more safety/margin for error.

Lots of people boost thier R's with good results, i didn't know that lots of them blow up, but lots of other b-series engines blow up when boosted. But lots of people run boosted engines with stock injectors and a FMU and no engine management. No wonder lots of boosted engines blow up, i mean, with no tuning (more fuel and less timing) how can you expect an engine to last when kicking the crap out of it?

I'm definately not going to be using stock injectors and stock fmu.
I have a AFC already installed.
I think with some alcohol/methanol injection it should help bring down the temps a significant amount and help with knock.
I have some DSM injectors, I have 450's and 550's...not sure which to use.
I have to leak down test and compression test my motor to make sure it's as healthy as I'd like it to be. last time I did a comp test it was 215-215-215-235...seems kinda odd...

ditch the AFC (they're more harm than good). Get tuned with crome.
I'd use the 550s...DSMs suck IMO.
Methanol injection? Come on now. This isn't going to be a 800whp setup.....and IMO isn't needed.

Is this your daily driver?

dom

ditch the thick HG, ditch the block guard.

Use those 550's (which will probably be at a high duty cycle at 300whp).

Get a few step colder plugs and a GOOD tuner. Jeff evans has made 300whp+ on a bone stock c5 many times (check out his website) It can be done. I'd just get arp headstuds, the rest you can leave stock.

I used methanol injection in my DSM and it dropped my intake temps by over 100* My mileage went up and it helped with knock.
It was stinky but who cares.

Yes it is my daily driver.

Chris, make sure your boy doesn't sell that kit. It's got my name written all over it.
