Arrow

adjustable cam gears are good and if you can afford the cams even better you got headers?? free flow cat?? valve job, a bit of porting the head maybe ?? that's all i can think of now if you loaded than turbo that ****

what's low cost??
i've yet to see anything "cheap" that i can do to my car to speed it up, so i've gone for improved handing instead..
sometimes it's better to not have to brake as much as everyone else..

getting a lighter flywheel or lightening it (not by too much), would be one way, and then you could lighten the whole valvetrain as well

ah and yes, possibly get lighter rims

Lightening the flywheel will give better accel. but it will decrease your speed going up hill or inclines. If you want accel. then you want the greatest tqr/lbs ratio, start thing about trq and not hp, ever try to move your car in the fifth gear. A Viper can, why? With 500 lbs of trq, it can move from 6tth gear. Try to keep in mind trq, if you want top speed and mantaining top speed, then hp is essential.

I have heard of Toda cam shafts that can give 30 hp and 20 trq (around) in the low - mid rpm and levels off to stock at high rpm. Dino tested. I will find out more later, if you want. You need to tune your car, spend time and really figure out what you want, most mods (not always) will increase one thing and decrease another.

A Header will help, turbo too. LOL
New flywheel, along with a new clutch.
New tranny too. Cam gears along with dyno tuning would probably be the best bet.
