cat/o2 problem

Okay well I have a 99 hatch with the standard y7 motor. The stock exhaust manifold is where the cat is usually located. I got an aftermarket header (not sure on brand) but i got a great deal on it.

So when i installed this i was left with no cat and a permanant check engine light.

I did have a noticable difference in power(more then i expected) however I feel it is irrisponsible and not worth the risk of not running a cat. So its not a couple months later and im looking to fix this issue.

I have a apexi WS2 cat back and just picked up a JDM DC2 cat to solve my problem.

Now the question is...whats the best way to go about having this put on...The cat I got does have an o2 in it...but will this one work? I also have the o2 which i took out of my stock cat. Im not sure if the threading is the same size or not. Also not sure if the wiring between the 2 are the same either.

I guess the wire will need to be extended but will i need special wire to withstand the heat that it will be near? Also because this is obd2 when i hook up the second o2 will the light just go away automatically or will it still need to be cleared?

I know there will need to be welding so I wil be having the cat put on at an exhaust shop, but i would like to figure out exactly what i want done before i stroll into the shop and sound like a complete idiot and dont know what i want.

should work as long as the cat isnt pooched, my buddy did the same thing to his dx. You will probably need to get the code cleared after too.

No the cats in good condition I got it from an importer so there shouldnt be very many KM on it.

I just hope I made the right desicion on getting the type R cat instead of a high flow.
