Exhaust help????

Okay guys I need some help

I am currently running a built gsr motor in my ej2. I have a 2 and 1/4 inch piping from my car back to a Spoon N1. I have a megan header which is really loud and the Spoon N1 which is really loud. The loudness is really starting to bother me so I don't know what to do?

I have asked around and some people think that if I put a resonator in it will make my exhaust quieter but I am not sure if it will work. Right now it is a combination of the header and the muffler. So my other option is to put on a stock type r exhaust and sell the Spoon N1.

My questions are:
will vtec still hit loud with a stock type r exhaust?
how does the type r sound?
will a resonator help?
with a type r will my header still be really loud?

any one have any sound clips?

let me know
thanks guys

i dont have all the answers, but i could try to help ... my buddy has a type r midpipe with a magnaflow exhaust on his b18c5 ek ... when he hits vtec it still screams, its a nice sound tho ... im not too sure with the type r exhaust tho exactly how it will sound ... a resonator will help quiet down the sound tho ...

Your stock 2.25" b-pipe already has a resonator, unless you want to take that out and put in a longer resonator. And do you also have the Spoon N1 silencer? It helps a bit.

Header will always make your engine/exhaust sound louder, because the exhaust gas now has less flow restriction. You want to tone down the sound, you need to add restrictions.

Are you running a Cat? If not through in a cat they usually work to shut them up

im in the same boat!!

i think a resonator would help!!

resonators only help a little bit, they do help with the raspy-ness though.

Why would u only run a 2 and a quarter exhaust if you have a built motor and a 2.5 collector diameter.

What I would do is run a 2.5 exhaust, with a big resonator, to an rsr mag muffler.
