exhaust headers for a 5th gen stock
hey guys i am just wondering what differences would be for exhaust headers for my 94 hatch D15B7
4-1 vs 4-2-1
ceramic coated vs stainless steel
any input would be awsome
oh and what do you think the cheap ebay headers lack in terms of quality? is it ****ty welding smaller pipe?
is it worth buying a cheap ebay set?

well 4-1 is for top end and 4-2-1 is more designed for optimal low-end and midrange.
I've had both on my built b16 and i much prefer the 4-2-1 design.
I had a DC 4-1 ceramic 1 peice and now i have a vibrant 4-2-1 stainless steel 1 peice w/2.5" collector. The DC rusted/corroded in about 6 months and had much smaller diameter primaries and a stock sized collector (2" i think). The Vibrant (JUN and T1R replica) has a super-sexy finish, very nice welds, a really thick flange, large diameter primaries and of course a 2.5" collector.
All i have to say is you get what you pay for...especially when it comes to aftermarket car parts.
There are reasons why some brands are cheaper than others. Such as quality, craftsmanship, materials, how much research and development when into the peice and overall fit and finish.
I'm not saying that you need to go spend $1200 US on a SMSP or ANR especially for a stock d15b7 (not hatin on the d-series) unless you have big N/A plans for your car.

I got the Ractive 4-2-1 header for my 93 Civic with a JDM D15B VTEC. Nice header with nice sturdy quality and excellent welds. No problems so far after oh lets says 3-6 months so far.
I had that D15B7 too, some headers should help you some.

I have a Ractive 4-2-1 header for my 98si... it came with the downpipe as well.
i think it's a crappy design. it's not as sturdy (not as many attachments) as the OEM... nothing on the downpipe... i've had to replace a gasket once.. and i've had the thing maybe about a year. i've also had to tighten the bolts from the header to the downpipe a few times.
it was 1/2 the price of OEM though..
