Eww i grinded my tranny

Im paranoid now because I didn't press the clutch in far enough before I put it in gear. I heard some grinding for a short sec.

Is this really bad on the engine? Second time ive done it since I got my swap last week. Im gonna break this engine

No, but it'll wear some bearings and eat some synchros if you continue to do it... just change the tranny oil in a month or so to get the chunks of metal out of it. The gears are so hardened that unless your shifting clutchless at redline every day, the gears won't see much damage. Just the bearings and synchros.

bah, dont worry, lol.......DONT shift with no clutch, dont even try experimenting.... i learnt the hard way...

it happens, even with the most experienced, it happens.

Unhappy Grinding

:working: My recently aquired 91 civic with a B16 has grinding when shifting... if I have worn parts to deal with what would the repair work run me? How bad does it get before I NEED it?

I thought my ride was wicked fast and then a mechanic friend tried it and let me know my VTEC wasn't kicking in!!! (another fix...)

I love it!

dont worry about a little grind here and there.

last year at the track while downshifting/upshifting into and out of the corners i noticed i was doing it clutchless

i thought to myself, it feels like i'm forgeting to do something. looked at my left foot and noticed i was using it to hold my weight while going into the corner.

be it i was rev matching while doing this, so no grinding.

but everyone does it now and then. i can t remember how many times i've done it lol
