Is everyone keeping up with maintenance?
Everyone's so into the whole mod thing I was wondering if you're all keeping up with maintenance like you should be???
Last week I did an oil and filter change (Castrol GTX 5w30 and Honda filter). Just today I cleaned out my throttle body, intake manifold and throttle cable/butterfly. Took 5 minutes and the car runs noticeably better, with improved throttle response down low.
Within the next month I'll be changing my spark plugs, air filter, distributor cap/rotor, cleaning my brakes, and doing another oil change. Then a month after that it's a valve adjustment, and if all goes well I'll be switching to synthetic with another oil change.
Yeah maintenance ain't cheap, but why mod your car if you're not gonna maintain it? Food for thought.

Yep, I got my oil changed last week with a new filter while I was getting my car lowered.
I am taking my car in to Altech in about an hour to have the bearings in my tranny changed out with new ones.
You never can tell what used trannys will do on a track under the strain of a launch.
In about a month or so I am gonna be scraping all the crap and gunk off my calipers and getting new rotors, checking the lines etc. Either that or just get new rotors and those python 4 piston calipers if I can afford 'em (in the front) and clean up the rear ones.
Soon I will be replacing my plugs and wires as well.
Regards,
OK

I just booked my 72,000 km service (oil change, brake service, brake fluid change, coolant flush, spark plugs, etc.) for next Tuesday when I'm off. My car is under extended warranty so I have to be sure to follow the maintance schedule, even though I always do, warranty or not.

yes i follow the maintenance schedule pretty closely. but i always just use the mileage (km's) and not time period as my indicator of when things need to be done. is this ok? i mean i dont drive my car very often so usually the time period is over well before i'm even close to the mileage point for an oil change.

Oil change = a week ago (with oil treatment)
New air filter = today
Since I got my car about 3 months ago I didn't know how long ago everything was changed, so I went and bought everything for a major tune-up (i.e. platinum spark plugs, wire, distributor cap and rotor, etc). So I went to my buddy's house only to discover that everything had been done when I bought the car, bonus for me

Even if u never drove your car when the date comes by u should be changing the oil, it looses its consistency and doesn't coat as well as it should.

I use throttle body cleaner in a spray can, you can buy it at Canadian tire. To apply it just remove your intake pipe, start up the car and spray like nutz while opening the throttle body manually. This will clean out your TB and IM at the same time. It's cheap and makes a world of difference if you do it regularly. Only costts like $5-$6 bucks. And yes v33k your car is gonna smoke like crazy if you kill the whole can. I usually only use half a can each time though.
Nice to see everyone is maintaining their car.
And yeah you should change your oil at least every 3 months, even if you don't drive alot, and especially if you're using dino oil.

Also, is it necessary to use half a can? That sounds like a lot.

Import Racer: it's called "Throttle Body Cleaner" and it's made by Motomaster. By manually opening the throttle I mean pulling on that little flap that your thottle cable runs to. ( some people call it a butterfly). Pulling on it will open the throttle plate. And use whatever amount you feel is necessary. I usually use half a can.
