enigine removal????

enigine removal????

I wanted to try and save myself some work and i was wondering if i could remove the motor and leave the tranny in place. this is a stupid queston but i am feeling pretty lazy. lol

yes.... but it will be harder to remove the engine with it inside the engine bay...

you would have to support the tranny somehow though

i dont think you can... cause the tranny input shaft has to slide out of the clutch assembly... and i'm not sure there is enough room on the engine side of the engine bay to slide it all its easier to either take it all in one shot or transmition then motor

ya u gota take it out, plus itll b alot easier this way anyways cuzz ull have more room to work on whatever ur doing

if you take the engine out take the tranny with it... soo much easier...

i think to take off the engine with the tranny still on, you have to tilt the tranny down. Then have the engine pointed down with the engine then pull the engine from the tranny...


easier to do all out of the car
drop it as a unit

yeah pull out the tranny with the motor, its easier to remove the drive shafts off the tranny rather then all the bolts to take the tranny off the engine while its in the car.

yes u can pull the motor out with the tranny in still but the logical route to go is pull everything one shot.
