engine work
I was wondering if i could get some advice on which of the offers Steve has for engine work would be the most beneficial.
The 3 things are
- Resleeve Block and endyn pistions
-Port head and crower cams
-valve job with stainless steel valves
My overall plans for the engine are/were, build up a turbo setup with semi-strengthened internals and run about 10psi on my B18B1 tuned using hondata most likely.
I am starting to maybe sway away from the idea and go with something simpler if I could reach the goal of having crazy amounts of torque (for a honda).
So what im thinking is should i go with some high compression pistons (12:1) and have the resleeved block bored to 84-84.5mm? or stick with some low compression pistons (9:1) and go with the turbo setup for down the road. The one thing im worried about is the engine suffering from running lower compression than stock.
As for the cams i was looking at there stage 1 cams or stage 2 turbo cams.
Any advice or information would be awesome. I am definitely a newbie when it comes to engines and id like to learn about building a strong reliable motor with some power.

if your going to look at this from a cost / benifit point of view...
then do it all at once that way you can work out a deal but generally it would be cheaper because they only have to do assembly once....
if you do that stuff on their own they have to do assembly each step of the way
for per formance gain it's hard to say between the first 2... it's a toss up

yeah i was thinking about that aswell, getting everything done at once as with the pricing steve posted it would be like $1600.
The best person to ask questions to would be steve in this case and ive emailed him at concepts but im hoping someone can help me on here aswell.

from what i read it includes everything, read the post at the top entitled crower.
Well just about every B18B1 turbo setup that was pusing 10lbs was making well over 200ft/lbs to the wheels.

200 tq to the wheel in NA form for a B series is very hard. Look at the price list offered by Steve to do a 2 liter NA B series that can output 200+whp. I think you can double that amount, and you still wouldn't get 200tq to the wheel.

there's just something about being pushed back into your seat that i like. I figured it would be super hard to get alot of torque out of my engine but figured i would ask. Hopefully steve will respond to my email or this thread and give me some advice on what i should look into. Resleeved block with some endyn pistons sounds nice.
