Thanks. My question now is how do you know that exactly do you have one and i cant find this D16Y8 in the list it has a Civic Si D16Z7 U.S.A/Canada 96-00 9.6 127@6600 107@5500 P2P listed for my car.

D16Y8 is the VTEC in the canadian Si cars. The other code you found may be a US code for Cali cars cause of emissions. D16Y7 is the non-VTEC version I have, and the D16Z6 is the 5th gen VTEC. Other 5th gen non VTECs are 1.5L if I'm not mistaken. Anyways, just look at the code to the left of the exhaust manifold, where the tranny bolts to the engine. It's stamped in a machined area there, but all D-series parts from the VTEC will fit all other VTEC D series motors.
