Engine Swap Question

I'm going to do a engine swap, just want to see can I keep the cable transmission, because it comes with a hydraulic transmission.

well what engine do u have in your car now and what are you swapping in?

Capo 13-Dec-2005 03:47 PM

If the swap comes with a hydro tranny then id suggest selling the hydro tranny and buy a cable tranny because converting from cable to hydro is a bit of a pain and u will have extra money left over selling the hydro and getting the cable.

If your car came with cable, keep it cable.

Yes the motor will work with both transmissions.

i dont see why the conversion to hydro would be too hard. just need the clutch pedal, master cylinder, fluid container reservoir, and clutch lines

The swap over isn't that hard but it takes time and when your paying someone to do it the price will add up fast. I don't think the benefit outweighs the cost so why bother.

IMO cable trannies are where it's at, hydro is good for in traffic, thats bout it
