Engine swap madness help
Okay this is weird. My uncle is at the place where they are doing my swap and he says like they have problems using the TPS Sensor from the JDM D15B swap. And they are gonna try to use the old D15B7 one? Can that be done? And isnt that engine supposed to bolt on and just do VTEC?
And another thing. The stupid guy who we got the engine from gave us the ECU. The ECU says P54 which is from a EDU Accord 1.8. That cannot fit with the JDM D15B right?
Damn I confused of what they are doing.
Someone help try to clearify some stuff plz?
Oh ya, Im not at the place currently, my uncle is and just called me....

And yeah, the ecu you require is the P08. The Accord ecu probably won't run it, if so, it'll be horribly rich and run like ****.

Okay its done (for now). The TPS was okay, they just took it out to test it.
Anyways the ECU is madness. Too rich for the car and idles are soo off. Anyways went for a quick drive with my uncle..
Frig the engine is fast and smooth! I LOVE IT!
Anyways now we are gonna return the ECU and get the right one.
Its a 93 Civic DX. So which ECU do I get? P08 (original) or P28?
If anyone has any P28 ECU's or P08's please PM me with price. Need one quick!

No no you. There are two versions of JDM D15B. There is one with 3-Stage VTEC which it has two solenoids (just remember it says "VTEC-E" on top.
The one I have says D15B and I have the single stage one where it just says "VTEC" on top. The VTEC-E is for economy and has less HP.

No no me what?
Im quoting this:
"One is the well-knowned VTEC-E which delivered an incredible 20+km/l mileage. The other is the VTEC D15B, a power implementation. The VTEC D15B is a very significant engine variant because Honda used VTEC to make it possible to generate as much power as a DOHC design from its SOHC configuration. Thus the VTEC-D15B generates 130ps and redlines at 7200rpm, ably replacing the DOHC ZC design despite having 100cc less displacement and one cam-shaft less !
"
..........
"For the 1995 EK3 Civic, the evolution of the D15B culminated in the now famous 3-stage VTEC implementation, a merging of the earlier VTEC-E and power-VTEC variants. Thus we now finally get power and economy in one great engine; incredible as it seems, on the 3-stage VTEC D15B, Honda actually delivered the best of both worlds."
"The VTEC-D15B engine is a 16-valve SOHC design with a displacement of 1493cc and uses the PGM-Fi fuel injection system. It develops a high 130ps at 6800rpm with max torque of 14.1kgm at 5200rpm."
"For the EK-generation Civics, development on the D15B engine finally culminated in the now famous 3-stage VTEC D15B. This engine is used on the current generation EK3 VTi and Ferio Vi. 3-Stage VTEC D15B is a wonder engine in that Honda took the technologies of the VTEC-E and VTEC-D15B engines and merged them into one single engine."
...
so looks like depending on the year of the d15B there a bit diff but same HP
as for ECU
Just JDM p08

I don't get it...LOL. All I know this is single stage and VTEC...
Thanks, P08 seems to be what everyone says. But it might be hard to get. P28 works though so maybe they have more of that around here...

Isnt Honda Tech US based?
Anyways I have another problems that I could use some help on...
Okay this car is automatic. Now when we try to pull the trans to D4 it cannot get down passed R. It's in P right, but it doesn't want to go down to R. Now we have to use the key and put it in that hole above the stick to get it downwards. The same goes for the reverse. It's very hard to get back to P since we have to do the same thing.
Whats wrong you think? I dont think it use to happen like that before.
Could it be the wrong ECU causing it or the tranny wasnt put in properly?
