Engine Swap

Wazzup!!!!

Okay, i've read most/all of the post that are related to what i'm about to ask but i just wanted the opinions/advice of all the people that have had the experience.

My civic hatch (G6) totally has NO power and i want instant power out of the "box" and i was told by many a web sites that the best way to do this would be an engine swap.....

i have also visited many web sites and i have a couple engines in mind...but i do have a couple of questions.

i'm considering the following (in order of what i would like):

1) B18C (JDM)
2) B18C1
3) B16A2 (JDM or USDM)

i'm looking for everyday driving, durability and reliability. i'm also concerned about the legality of the swap (are JDM engines legal in ontario)....as i dont want it to be impounded, ticketed or anything by the cops.

i have also read the post that has a huge list of shops that would perform the swap...but which in your opinion would be the best out there.

any help would be greatly appreciated...cuz i'm so lost in this matter

Thx in advance

Im goin with the B16A2, for a daily driver as well, and you can most likely get it in the price range you've set (that what i have seen but im still researching)...........they are great engines, and it will be a major performance boost to our cars (got the same engine as you)..................good luck hope you find (and get) what your looking for

and is the last production year of the B18C (JDM) '97?!?!?

hmm..if you have enough money for a B16B, just save a little more or put a little more for a B18C.

B16A is a good engine but lacks in torque if you want that umfff off the line

thats what i was thinking, go with the 18C cuz where i live there are hills everywhere and i dont want to redline everytime i hit one!!!

i also heard that its possible to drop in an H22A into a G6 civic.
but some ppl say good idea, some say bad.

I know that the price for H22A is up there with the engines that i want, so would the H22A be a better choice if i wanted an everyday driver?

thx

Installing an H22 properly will be an effective everyday driver + give you the torque for those hills you mentioned. IYou can find h22 for a very good price. I can help you with all the info and prices if you like. B series motors do bolt in and is the choice of engine if you don't want to modifiy your vehicle too much.

Yeah, I saw on a couple other sites and people that you need some major modifications to the engine bay and i dont want none of that....and also i heard that the steering is **** and is only good for straight aways...

so i've decided on the B18C...

thx for all the help
