Engine running a little cold?
Hey,
I've been noticing that in the winter that the engine runs a little cool. In the summer the engine stays right in the middle of the temp gauge, lately it's been 1/4 to the cold.
Normally I don't VTEC it until it's at running temp. Does this mean that the winter running temp is 1/4 lower and it's okay to VTEC it?

I have the same problem in the summer the needle would move to to just slightly above the cole line and now that it's winter the neddle hasn't moved. the only time I got the needle to move to the middle was when my rad broke and lost all the fuild even then the temperature didn't go above the middle. (although I had a new rad installed the day after)anyone know how much it costs to get the thermostat checked?

i think civics have problems with maintaning temp. in the summer my temp is always on the middle line. Now it is a bit less, if i'm on the highway everything is alright and it stays constant, however if it is very cold and i'm in stop and go, the temp will decrease especially if the heating is on in the car...

Summer temp should be before middle, winter needle should always be lower then usual. this is all because of the cold weather and haviung ure heater on.
its no something to worry about, unless ure temp fluctuates non stop. if it does then its ure thermostat.

my temperature never moves in the winter (I'm beinging to think the needle is stuck) in the summer it moves a bit but if you look on the scale there is the C for cold and a small white line perpindicular to the circular white line and it's at the and it's at that white line during the summer that my engine temp needle stayed at. the only time I got it to hit the middle of the scale was when I blew the radiator apart then drove to toronto from Niagara with no rad fuild (not a recommended thing to do)
