89 teg motor is practically useless to you...sell it to a 3rd gen civic/1st gen crx owner who can actually make use of it...the mounts are completely different not to mention the computer system it uses is primative at best

they do wonders in a 1st gen crx though!

B20 from a CRV.

I'd say build up a newer LS and turbo it, but that costs.

That is a total WASTE of time.
God help anyone for pulling their d15 and putting a d16z6.

Total waste of time and a headache for almost no noticable gain.

d16 is a cheap option.. the zc.. I just don't know enough about it to "suggest it".

Low boost on the D15..but unless you know what your doing that will be expensive.

Good Luck.

for what it would cost you to put low boost on the stock engine you could've easily swapped a b20. A b20 into an eg is a drop in affair, you can even use stock honda mounts and axels, not your stock ones, well some of your stock ones but you would need integra ones as well.
Use a 2nd gen b16 tranny b/c its hydro and has super short gears and you will have a really fun street car. B20's don't have the top end of a b16 but for a street car i would rather have more torque, besides there is always the option (later down the road) of adding a vtec head.

I repeat, stock d16 is a waste of time..

the only results you'll notice are the non-existent ones your mind makes up after it realizes it wasted so much time and money swapping from one piece of **** to another.

A 5th gen Canadian CX has 102 hp as opposed to 70 hp (USDM CX).

EG you only need one mount to mount a B engine. Get a B18B. There's ton's of them. Just get teh stock LS tranny if you like going on the Highway. So it cost's a touch more than a Vtec D motor but you have WAAAY more potential. Think about just I/H/E on a B18B. You'd be spanking any D. You wouldn't even be much slower than a Boosted D if you did the Right mods. For the hassle its not worth swapping D motor's.They are cost effective though for the power you get don't get me wrong.

B18b/B20 with an LS tranny, preferably u would get a GSR tranny but those are hard to come by. a B16 imo has is geared too short for street driving. u will be cruising at 5000rpm at 120km/h....

uhh Canadian CX has like 100 HP.

So once again, total waste of time.

People think it's easy to just pull engines out and put them back in as long as their direct bolt-ins. Have you ever tried removing bolts that have NEVER moved? good luck, not worth it unless you're gonna see decent gains.

I agree with Cablerat. Why waste all that time just to gain a measley 20-30hp. Even a stock swap is involving. Its better just to get a B motor. A B18B is what I recomend. You'll definetly feel the Torque Difference jumping from a D to B. Not to Mention the Gearing is so much better. Even LS gearing is close enough to Be fun.
