Engine light Turns on: after 4500 - 5k RPM in 4th or 5th ????
 

well its a d16z6 and wen i drive pretty much on highway wen i hit 4500 - 5000RPM or above the engine light comes on ONLY in 4th and 5th gears! but when i turn the car off and turn it back on while on the highway it clears out ? i dont get it wat code is this cuz i dunno if i will be able 2 find it because whenever i turn the car off the engine light disapears

well it should be stored in the ecus memory....just b/c the CEL isn't on, you should still be able to check the code by jumping the service connector.

no, its the o2 sensor....lol

Replace your o2 sensor.. thats what was wrong when my car had a check engine light

and i found out the cat is hollowed out ( previous owner) would this wreak my new o2 sensor?

But to answer your questions a hollowed cat MAY cause a secondary o2 code, it will definately cause problems..

either way thats not your problem. Check your code by jumping the connector then get back to us.

obd1 civics don't use a secondary o2 sensor c-pos....only the single o2 sensor before the cat.

didn't even realize it was obd1.

I haven't dealt with an obd1 in awhile.. sorry Lenster

lol i should have rethought about that even hahah since the o2 sensor is on the header LOL im jumping it 2mrw morning ill let u guys know
