Engine Light turning on
Hey whats up, I am having a bit of a problem even though its not big at all I am wondeing what it could be heres the problem:
I just got my engine swaped from stock to stock well it was almost eveything tranny and all anyways it runs perfect but when I go like 80 and over and stay at that one constant speed for a bit the engine light comes on but the car still runs the same but when I turn the car off and turn it back on its off till I do the same thing again. I was just wondeing if anyone would know what the problem would be?
I got it done at altech yesteday and they said just too come back in and they will look at it but I live in cambride and if i could fix it then why the sense of going back up to toronto to get it done.
Oh yeah its a 93 Civic DX HB
Thanks

Hey Dariusz
Don't know what's up with the check light I've never seen it come on before when it was in my car, it's proberly a sensor that didn't get hooked up right. Hows it running anyways?
They did a job on mine so far it's running really good!

Its actally running really good, a lot better then the old one. Yeah thats what I think wrong with it a sensor or something they told me they are going to do a check on it. I am not worried at all.
Thanks a lot for the trade I am really happy that I did it all.
Also I am glad its running good does the vtech sound nice?

listen man, go out with a buddy or soemthing like that, pull out the jumper to test the engine light underneath the glove box (2 pin connecter) use a cotter pin to jump the two wires together, jthen when you're doin' 80 or whatever the light will come on, put the cotter pin in the connector and count how many times the light flashes, then look up in the service manual or the net or whatever so see what the code is.
good luck

Hey,
I had my head gasket done in March and after it was re-assembled it was doing this same problem. I have yet to diagnose it, so I just ignore it. I was told it might be the oxygen sensor. I haven't checked the codes yet.
