Engine light is on in my SiR

My SiR engine light is on. Is there a way to check what's wrong? anything I can do to reset it? I tried pulling the hazard light and pull the battery, nothing works....
Please respond!!

Unless you have a diag tool you would be better to wait....

Take it to a garage plug it in and see if it throws a code...

loop the blue connector by the ecu. turn the ignition on so the CEL lights up. count the blinks.
long blink=10
short blink=1

ie. 7 long, 2 short=72

if you want to reset it, pull the radio fuse(7.5) from the fuse box under the hood.
leave it out for about 10 secs, put it back in and the code should be cleared.

did you find out what code it was throwing???
get the code, then look it up.
pulling the fuse isnt gonna fix the problem. it'll just get rid of that enoying CEL in your face temperarely. if there's a real problem the CEL will come on again.

even if there is no light on, sometimes the ECU will throw soft codes. check it every now and again whenever you feel the car kinda sluggish. i've done this and came up with codes i didnt know were there at times.

Where is the ECU anyway? I know that in previous years, the ecu is under the passenger carpet, is that still the same? i tried pulling the carpet out, but looks like it would be difficult since they are embedded under the console...
