Engine Light Help

I sprayed my engine yesterday with the Gunk stuff to clean my engine. I did everything according to the label.....cover the air filter, wires etc.. to the best that I could. Everything was okay until later on the day when I left my friends house I drove up the street and the car jerked when I was in first gear and the engine light went on. I stopped the car and turned the engine off and then back on again to see if the engine light would go off but it stayed on and I drove it all the way home. I noticed that everytime I changed gears, it would choke as if it wasn't getting enough gas and then when it reaches around 3000 RPM the car picks up. I'm not sure if it was caused when I sprayed the engine or just a coincidence. Can someone help me out??? Would anyone know what might be the problem and how I check the engine light code?. My car is a 2000 Civic SIR. Thanks in advance guys.

prolly got water in the distributor cap. let it dy completely and see if the problem is still there. Reset the engine light by pulling the negative battery cable for a few minutes

Thanks for the reply guys......I'm going dry the distributor and reset the engine light. If that's not the problem will the engine light go back on after reset?

Yeah that was the problem. I dried out the distributor and resetted the engine light and now the car runs fine again. Thanks for the replies guys.
