engine finally blew

hey guys and girls,
well my d16z6 blew last night with 215 000km's. now i have to buy a new engine. im thinkin of going to Japan Auto Parts in toronto and getting either a B16B(preferably) or a B16A to throw in their. I just have a few questions. First the tranny thats in my car right now with the d16z6 is this compatible with the B16's? Secondly the wiring harness that i have in right now is this compatible with the B16's? Third what is the estimated cost of doing this? And Finally what else will i need to get for my car to do the swap.

Thanks

no your tranny will not work

for the rest of the question, a search should answer everything

good luck

you don't have the time, we don't have the time :D

works both ways

search a little smarter, use diff keywords, it works

95Si 28-Jun-2005 08:14 PM

listen buddy im not in a great mood to be listening to ur b.s. i said if someone would like to help me out please do so. i never asked for u to be a smart ass. so AGAIN ANYONE WHO HAS THE TIME TO TYPE A FEW WORDS PLEASE DO SO. :fight:

imported_loudsubz 28-Jun-2005 08:17 PM

I was trying to help you out, I have been here long enough to know what goes on, and have seen this topic talked about more times than you have posted, so by telling you to do a search is probably one of the smarter things I could have said.

But since you want to act that way, be it, no skin off my back.

Double_B 28-Jun-2005 08:21 PM

Anyone that asks the questions you have asked are told to do a search because it gets asks many many many times. There is no reason to repeat what others have said in different posts. All he was doing was trying to help you out, not need to be rude. You have no time, what makes you think others have time to type what is already here on the site.

Do a search

imported_starboy869 28-Jun-2005 08:43 PM

I'm assuming a b16b is out of your price range.

bbarbulo 28-Jun-2005 09:23 PM

1. no
2. for the most part yes, but ensure your engine comes with it's own wiring harness for things like knock sensor and whatnot....
3. $3000-4000 installed would be a decent price for a legitimate engine in good shape with some service done (I'd at the very least get a timing belt and water pump)
4. the more the merrier.... axles, tranny, engine, wiring harness, all accessories (starter, alternator, sensors, power steering pump, exhaust manifold and pref. engine mounts too).... maybe some stuff I forgot.

anyways, you better know your role. you are in no position to mouth off the senior members here, esp members of our administration and mod teams. most often the answers you get here will depend on how kind or generous we're feeling. so if you don't know how to search then you better learn how to be nice.

that would run for a b16a2

if your looking for b16b the motor alone would run anywhere from 4500 to 5500 easily. then the install add atleast another 1000.00 cuz of mounts etc...

Younes Si 28-Jun-2005 09:36 PM

you guys gotta admit it, the only reason you told him to do a search is because he has 30 posts...

if it was another member that had 1000 posts you guys would all help out, because i've seen it many times on here that some old member (not age) would ask a very commen question with plenty of good replys...

another thing is that you guys are also right, it just depends on the mood you are in, if you feel like helping or not

kind regards

we can safely assume he can't afford the B16B route, so yeah I gave him the B16A2 or B16A3 price.

Younes Si, you are right, there are ppl who have proven themselves worthy of answers and ppl we generally like - and we provide help to such people w/o question. Then there are people who've brought nothing to the club, but who demand answers.... people like that get ignored or told to search.

LOL, to be honest, I always do a search first before I ask, not just on here but on the web as well. And I think it all depends on the question too on how some of the members will respond. The one's he has asked I think he needs to do a search,

Just my opinion

imported_GoldBadge 28-Jun-2005 10:10 PM

Also, people with 1000 posts would know better than to ask a question they've seen other poeple ask numerous times.

And....95si's posts were over a 25 minute time span. That's plenty of time to get some good leads via searching.
