engine bogging out
i own a 97 acura 1.6 el , my engine keeps bogging out on me . Not all the time , which is the weird part. It happens in a full range of rpm and even when in neutral with clutch in. My fuel filter has just been changed and i have a new tranny so i dont know what to do. Also, my engine is burning oil , making synthetic dark quick.
If anyone could shed some insight on this i would appreciate it. Thanx:cheers: |
the only time my car boggs is when im running low on go juice !!!!!! possibly another suggestion is don't hawk it right to the floor learn to drive a d series its all about the half throttle !!!!!!!!!!!

:dito: :p
anyways if it's burning oil then you have other internal issues to deal with. deal with them there is a variety of causes of oil burning... |
the number one cause of burning oil in such a new car is (by the sounds of your bogging problem) beating on the little 1.6 litre it may be made by honda bbut its not for racing!!!!!!

This problem happens with a little or alot of pedal. I t also sputters when it idles but only when it`s going through it`s cycle. It`s like i have a geo for 10 minutes then i have full power then all of a sudden, moreso just doing speedlimit, it boggs intermitently. Does anyone know the effects of water up your air intake. It seems it started after i hit a big puddle 6 months or so ago.

how many KM's on the engine?
|
timing might be out of whack!
|
I HAD NEW TIMING BELT 6 MONTHS AGO AND VALVES ADJUSTED BUT I WILL CHECK THAT OUT
. tHERE ARE 133 000KM ON ENGINE AND 70000KM ON TRANNY |
Clean ur air filter, check ur plug gap, more importantly check to see if ur wires are shorting out. maybe u need new ingnition wires. But first clean the air filter, on CAI the filter gets hella dirty and fast!
|
cool i`m taking off my bumper tomorrow and checking filter.
|
i aggre w/ wires might be arking.
i would check your o2's they might be fuct if the read too rich the ecu cuts fuel. Good luck! |
Got an engine diagnostics on thursday i need a new ingnition coil and distibutor cap does anyone have a good aftermarket one they recomend??
