Engine ???

Hey People

Umm i am new to this TCC thing but i do own a 1991 civic and it needs a make over.

I need some information on what engine u guys think i should go with. Right now it is a stock 1.6L with few bolt ons but really nothing. i am not looking for Tons of power but just a nice crisp engine that will do the trick with some simple work.

If anyone could give me some information on wut they have done or wut is a good engine tranny and ECU combo, let me know.

simple work- b16 (there are tons of types, varying in price) 1st gen would be good for you

more work- b18 (again various types) turbo: b18b (LS), want vtec and minor bolt ons: b18c1 (GS-R)

even more work, but an *** kicker- H22 (prelude) the torquiest...

yeah if you wanna go mad cheap you could go with a DOHC ZC but for the extra money id rather have a B16 you`d be happier

thats my 2 cents though

to me, the ultimate swap for this car would be a stock B20B with a B16A cable tranny. Light up the tires in 3rd gear

Bah... our cars are too heavy for even a two liter. Our cars require boost But a lil EF with a 2.0 would be a real nice kick in the pants.

I agree. A b20b with the short gears of the b16 tranny would make a really fun street car. And if its not enough you can always add a vtec head and have a crvtec. But don't me wrong, its not as easy as bolting on a vtec head, it takes a good amount of work and parts to make a powerful, reliable, lasting ls/crvtec.

agreed with b20 with ys1 tranny or j1 etc, but I'd say go for a b16 or a zc if money is an issue.

I would take the B20b and a b16 tranny setup over a B16 anyday. Should be cheaper aswell compared to a straight B16 swap.
