Yes acura els have airbags.. they are the premium model of civic basically, but they are 4 doors with vtec and other creature comforts. El's are not made in the usa. But alot of people like them and want them over there.

LOL, yeah airbags are required here, and we don't live in igloos either.... we're not that far removed from you guys! except for the crappy *** weather we get in the winter, we're all pretty much the same, esp when it comes to car laws and stuff like that....

Yah we pretty well have the same saftey restrictions/standards as the US.. If anything we would have higher safety standards... Well its like that in the Aviation industry anyway, mush higer standards...

After all you guys dont even have to ware helmets on motorcycles correct? or is that only in Texas..??

That's exactly why the Mitsubishi EVO 8 hasn't made it to Canada... the intercooler interferes with the bumper and doesn't pass Canadian crash standards.

Personally I find daytime running lights to be more trouble than they're worth. I can't believe the number of morons out on our roads at night and in bad weather driving with nothing but their daytime running lights on!

When it starts raining, you turn your lights and wipers on immediately! When it's foggy, you turn your lights on. When it gets dark, you turn your lights on!

It's not that hard of a concept! :fustrated

ryanhook, in Michgan, DRLs are not required, and you wouldn't believe the number of idiots in the middle of the night that don't turn their lights on at all.... better DRLs than nothing at all.

and yes, ELs will be perfectly legal to bring over into the States... if anything, our laws are tighter than yours. MI doesn't even have a safety check at all... you can drive whatever you buy. But some states, a safety check is required periodically even though you still own the car... like Virginia. so I guess it depends on the state too.

ELs are perfectly legal in the U.S. On www.clubel.ca we have several members that live in the U.S.

For more info, you might want to check out the site and PM those members that live in the U.S. There are two I can think of off-hand, one lives in Chicago and the other in California.
