EK Tires Q

Hey guys, I have a couple of quick questions.

I have a set of 15's. Im still contemplating on whether to get 195s or 205's. I like the 205's, but will there be any clearance issues in the front when installed on a lowered EK (about 2" lowered)

Im also looking at whether to get a 45 or a 50. The 45s definitely look nicer but will it feel like an earthquake when hitting pot holes and will my rims dent?

Thanks guys

you cant go too low when it comes to the profile height of your tires because your speedometer will no longer be accurate. i think a 50 is the right size when running 205s on 15s...

i had 205s on roughly a 2" drop and they were fine, but when making a fully cut turn and holding it there it did rub on the inside of the front wheel wells.

they sure stuck like hell to the road though.

195 to 205 isn't going to make that much of a difference. The only time where you would really notice that much is if it was raced all the time... instead of buying a wider tire I would just buy a better tire! I wouldn't go to 45 because like he said it would throw of your speedo and you notice more bumps. I bought 195/50/15 and I just bought a better tire... I love em. and the handle better than my old 205's.

I had a 205\45\16 on eibach sport lines which give a 2" drop and I have plenty of room on my eg hatch...I even had 17" on at a time too!

205 won't rub unless your absolutely slammed like Mike. I have 205's on my car and they don't rub. Lots of people run 205 without issues.

whether it rubs or not would depend on your rim offset with a 2" drop.

As described above, quality of the tire not width gives most traction. For example Falken Azenis RT-615 is 195 would absolutely murder Yokohama ES100's in 205 width.
