EK Hatch Rear Strut Install?

Not sure how to install the rear Upper strut bar (not the C-pillar)
Do I have to take out all the trunk side peices or jus cut a hole?
Not really sure anyone know ??

This is for a 98 Hatch

if theres not little clips that pull out, I;m pretty sure you have to remove the panels.
I might have seen it in th BIY section

did a search could not find it. Did'nt really wanna pull the entire panels off. How hard is it to get the panels off? anyone ever do this install?

its really easy, I think there is that one plastic screw like thing (its got a circle cap on it) remove that without breaking it and teh panels should come out from what I remember!

if you can't figure it out, maybe you shouldn't be doing this. I mean this is really really really basic. use your eyes and your brain, and you'll figure it out. if not, then don't do it.

EK hatch panels are plastic, so cutting could get messy. However, to remove the panels, I am certain you need to take out the rear bench, if you don't want to cut.

But, for the long run, cutting is best in case you want to sell it in the future.

if you take Nova's route go get a junker panel to practice cutting

Thanks guys..yah it was super easy I jus always get worried about messing things up. I pulled most of the panel off enough to get my hands in there. Mounted the bracket, then cut a hole. Only problem was I cut the hole bigger then I should have. All in all I am happy..After looking @ the pics the install would be much easyer on a coupe then a hatch. Thanks for the help.
