ek hatch header swap

Hi guys, quick question. Whats the best way to relocate the converter on a EK hachback? Ive got the weirdo cat in manifold design. Should I just bite the bullet and take it to speedy or someone like that? Thanks

You will need a new cat because you can't re-use your old one. You can get a used Y8 or SiR cat and you will also need the B-pipe (Mid pipe) for your exhaust as well unless you get one custom made or purchase a new one. Bottom line is you are re-doing the whole exhaust and not just the header.

If you are still using the stock EK ECU, you'll need to make sure you get an OBD2 cat with an o2 sensor in it (you can reuse your stock sensor in it, but you'll need to extend the stock wires). This way you won't throw code 67 all the time (inefficient cat code)

Thanks a lot guys for the help. I'm sure a lot of people have ditched these manifolds, there like four little drinking straws coming from the engine right into a fairly serious restriction. !! Thanks again. I guess theres no way I can install an aftermarket free flow cat?

Ya the stock ones suck. Common problem is them cracking. I've just replaced my recently with aftermarket. You can install a free flow cat but it won't be located in the same place as it was before. It will be relocated to below the vehicle and after the header.
