Eibach sportlines ride hight?
 

i just got eibach sportlines installed on a 97 civic hatch with stock shocks, and the ride is amazing, only thing i was wondering is i've got like a 3 finger gap between front tire and fender and like a 2 finger gap between rear tire and fender. this is riding on 15's.

i was under the impression the the front would sit lower than the rear, or is this the way it's supposed to be?

They need a week or so to settle.

they should settle,, different cars will give different results, they dropped my crx like over 2 inches.

they have a 1.8"drop. I have them on my car..

weak sauce. But atleast I don't smash my low headers on driveways

i was thinking maybe the shop that did it put the rear springs on the front and the front's on the rears. is there anyway of telling which springs are for the fronts and which are for the rears by jacking up the car. like i mean are their spring rates written on them or anything?

yes there is,, theres a product number printed on the spring it will say F or R, front or rear. Might be kinda hard to read now as the springs are installed.

These springs are not just 1.8" drop its 1.8-2.5" depending on the application.

then thinner material spring is the rear springs, thicker is front. also, front have larger spacing between coils.

in addition, the susp should have been 'loaded' before tightening the bolts.

The rear fenders on the 96-00 Civics are also slightly different then the front. The rears wheel arches are lower then the front so the drop doesn't show as much.

I think I remember bbarbulo saying something about that once and the correct way to measure the drop is not with fingers, but measuring the height of the wheels arches before and after the springs are installed.

that's correct... actually the really proper way to do it would have been to take measurements before and after lowring, but not from the ground to the fender, but from the center of the rim to the fender. :nods:

ok, just went out and jacked up the car, i guess it is done right since the "R"'s are in the rear the the F's are in the front, maybe it just needs time to settle. it's not that big of a deal since i didnt want a slammed car driving downtown everyday and all, i just assumed the front would sit lower than the rear.
