eg rear disc swap
92 h/b
i did a search...this is what i understood from it... i need: prop. valve master cylinder brake booster calipers trailing arm e brake cable all form 90-93 teg???? anything else ??? and if i were to upgrade to bigger/slotted or anyhting like that what is needed? |
All from any DC2 teg, 1994-2001... your list sums it up, but there will always be parts missing somehow... just small things like nuts and bolts.
|
if your going through all that effort and you can afford it why not get gsr brakes all around?? cause rear disks aren't going to change much of anything for braking performance... but gsr fronts would be a great investment
|
yeah I wanted to do the swap as well, but it really won't do you any good.... unless you have time and $$ to kill, go ahead.
If you want performance, just upgrade the fronts. |
You pretty much got it covered with the parts with the exception of the brake lines.
For your EG, the best brakes to use are off a 92-93 Si hatch, Del Sol, 99-00 SiR, or 94-01 Integra. The REAR discs b/w all these models are EXACTLY THE SAME SIZE (with exception of Type-R which is 5-bolt anyways). These rear trailing arms will bolt-on without modifications. A 4040 proportioning valve (4-wheel disc braking system) is recommended however the swap can be done without doing this and keeping your stock (f. disc/r. drum) p-valve. Also, the brake booster and M/C upgrade is not necessary but recommended. Since you do not have ABS, a 7/8" master cylinder will be sufficient (this is what the 99-00 USDM SiR (okay...they call it the "Si" but same as our SiR) use. They dont come with ABS. For ABS applications a 15/16" or 1" M.C. would be better. The 4 wheel disc brakes will not improve your stopping power much but rather reduce the brake fade. It is a good upgrade. I have a complete rear disc brake conversion (minus the p-valve) for your car for sale right now in the Classified section. Also, if you have more questions about the swap or the big debate on whether you need to change the B.B. or M.C. and stuff, its covered all over the web. Good luck! :) |
blk93si has a prop valve for sale... so there ya go! silver rocket's parts + blk93si prop valve and you're set!
