EG exhaust question!

quick question ...
i know EK coupe exhaust will work on EG, coupe to coupe
(minor mod involved)
but are the center pipes the same size from coupe to hatch?

just bought an EG hatch for winter, turns out the center pipe is rotten, i have an Exhaust from a 2000 SiR i'm hoping will work!

lmk asap please

pm sent :)

I think there differnt lengths..

I dont mean to post up other questions in your thread, but I didnt see the point in staring another, when there somewhat related.

My question is a GSR catback a direct bolt on to a catback EJ coupe (94 civic)?

If not, what are the differences? thanks
Adam

As far as I know, the mid-pipes are the same on EJ and EK Coupes and Sedans. Ryanhook and 1niceSi both have SIR exhausts on their cars. Hatch may be different.

SICTOY does your car have the cat downstream in the midpipe, or is it part of the exhaust manifold? If it's part of the manifold, I don't think the SIR will work.

As for the GSR, I think only the tailpipe is different. It might be a little short for an EJ or EK, but it will physically bolt on. The tailpipe will probably tuck under the bumper instead of sticking out.

^^^
i haven't had a chance to look at the EG manifold...
gonna do it now!

think i might have to shorten the SiR mid pipe ... lil' bigger as well!

thanx guys

mid pipe from a 2000 SiR is direct bolt on to an EG hatch,
need a lil' minor bend of the heat sheild to compensate the resonator but other than that it was like a glove...axle back will work need to be shortened but ...
good quick upgrade 2" pipe, car seems to have a lil' more jam to it as well ...

thought i'd update as this would help someone i'm sure

he is right

What SICTOY said is right.

Be careful, there is alot of misinformation out there. I learn most things the hard way, myself.

The exhausts he mentioned are what I had on my car once and it fit perfectly, only the axle back needed to be cut and then i used a coupling and two exhaust clamps and then it worked too.
