ECU Tuning question...

ECU Tuning question...
00 SiR coupe with b16a2. sri w/ bpi velocity stack, (soon to have megan racing 4-2-1 header), highflow cat, cat-back tanabe.
I was wondering about doing the hondata s100 ecu upgrade so I can tune the engine to get it's max potential.
This worth it? What all do I need to do to do this?
I've read all about it on the hondata website but this ecu stuff is a little confusing to me. Some things they say contradicts other things they say, and it's not entirely clear on what all is involved in doing something like this...
If there's anyone here who has dlet with hondata or done something similar I would appreciate the help.
Thanks.

Ok...so I buy the s100 chip and have someone put in a basic original program into the s100 chip (so I can drive the car for the mean time) then have it dyno tuned and reprogramed?

or for the price of the S100 you could pay someone to street tune your car with crome (which is free, unlike hondata). Then when you're ready, have the tuner go with you to the dyno and dyno tune it.
PM me if you need this done.

No you'll need a p28 ecu (obd1 92-95 si) or p06 chipped with v-tec. You'll need a conversion harness as well. Zeeman can provide all that plus socket it for the chip you will need with the map you want to run.
Hondata is a complete ECU and is very expensive, but provides pretty much the same features as crome pro (so andrew tells me)

Hondata S100 works on basically the same idea crome does, you cannont tune S100 yourself, only a dealer (or someone with the Rom Editor) can tune it. Its just a chip that goes inside of a socketed ecu.
Hondata S200 is basically the S100 with a little blue box, that allows you to datalog, control the launch control and full throttle shift by these connectors. Again this requires the Rom editor (which costs like $200US) to be able to tune it, a real time programmer (another $175US) is a very good idea to buy if you wanna tune yourself, and of course you'll need a burner (another $100 or $180US for the hondata one).
Hondata S300 is completely different than the S100 and S200.
The S300 is a little board that goes inside of the ecu and you have to cut the frame of the ecu to allow the USB connector to fit. This is nice b/c it does real time programming/datalogging through this one USB cable. This comes with every feature available including boost.
With the S100 and S200 boost is a $200 option that you have to purchase, same with the Rom editor (another $200) to be able to tune yourself.
Base price for hondata S100 is about $200 US, the S200 is $300US and the S300 is like $600US. This of course is the base price, meaning, the minimum anyone is allowed to charge for it.
Neetronics charges like $400 for the S100.
IMO crome works just as well, if not better than hondata, and is much more cost effective for the consumer.

it goes without saying that if you want to tune yourself you will need a wideband o2 setup ($300-600US).
Again, why having someone make a custom program using crome is such a good idea.
I've run some pretty high whp cars daily driven flawlessly with crome....wish i could say the same about hondata...haha.

I'm very interested in this.
I don't plan on doing too many more modifications to my car and I want to get the maximum out of it.
Thanks for all the info...
