ECU problems

i recently bought a P73 ECU, and i tried to switch my SIR ECU with that TypeR ECU since i did an engine swap. There are four slots on the SIR ecus, my OBD2 harness goes into the first, second and third slots for my SIR ecu, and for the P73 ecu, it requires the harness to goes into the first, third and fouth slots, the problem is...the first and the third harness fits into the P73 ECU, but it doesn't fit into the fouth slot, do i need some special harness?

so its like

SIR ECU Slots = 1, 2, 3, Blank
JDM TypeR ECU slots = 1, Blank, 3, 4

Sounds like you have a mix of OBD2B wiring harness and OBD2A ecu.
Conversion harnesses are made to convert between different generations of ECUs. Not to sound like a broken record, but try and search and see what you come up with.
Hope this helps.

You have a few options, the first being to find an OBD2B ITR Ecu OR to find an OBD1 ecu and ZIF socket it to run the appropriate chip or engine management of your choice.

I think I can get you one for $250 but you may have to wait for a couple days.
