Post ecu problems

hey guys..need help with my ecu..i own this '93 civic and it has an automatic transmission..my dad had its engine changed to d15b vtec and converted it to manual transmission..i didn't know that he didn't get the ecu of the engine..i was wondering if there is any way that i could at least do something with it to make it a "manual transmission ecu" coz i heard that i can cut some wires from the ecu just to let the ecu know that it isn't automatic..just need info and diagrams of P28's and which one will i cut..or any other alternatives? i cant find any one selling a d15b ecu here in the philippines..thanks for your help

no .. you can't simple answer

long answer

there are components that have to be desoldered and removed from the circuit board. on top of that the ecu has to have a new program dumped in . best just to get the right ecu.

wouldnt a d16zc ecu work for this...perhaps with a more aggressive fuel curve on it...but basically the same except 1.6vtec instead of 1.5?

if you get the manual ecu, make sure you add the wires for the clutch...

without those the car dont start.

an auto ECU will run a manual tranny car with only minor driveability problems like MAYBE rough/high idle.

besides that the auto ECU has everything it needs to run the motor. a manually ECU can't run an auto tranny at all!

there are some B series engines where the tranny has it's own ECU (for the automatic ones)

I'm guess and saying you put in a b18b with an LS automatic transmission?

anyways for the engine he's talking about here the ecu controls both engine and tranny and so I don't recommend using an auto ecu on a manual car.. while it can be done .. I just forsee a bunch of issues that are really not nice things to do to a car....

i say your best bet is local scrap/junk yards and check cars there if not hit ebay. tons of auction on ebay where u can get the proper ecu for your car

No actually it was a 89 d16 with a 90 d15 tranny and the only wireing on the tranny was for the solenoids.
