Ecu ...

I just reset my ECU, but when I turned back on my car, for some reason my AC seems way more powerful. Is this possible from a ECU reset? Hopefully my gas maps will be reset, and maybe ill get some better mileage! (Main reason for resetting ECU was horrible gas mileage, and yes i did check O2 sensor/air filter)

Any more things I should expect from the reset ECU?

PS: ECU resets are VERY easy

well did you reset properly .... by warming up the engine to operating temperature shutting it down doing the reset then restarting tghe car and let idle for 15 minutes so that it can learn the engine again?

if so sounds like your ecu was outta wack to begin with if your gaining that uch of a difference

yes I did reset it properly. The engine was still warm.. but not hot..I let the car idle for about 12 - 15 minutes..

I guess the eCU was outta wack to start with!

just an update.. i seem to have better mileage so far..

i used to get 300 km each full tank at granny driving..

im getting alot better as of the last full tank :)

(stupid previous driver, must have rammed gears! causing my gas maps to be shitty)

how do you reset the ecu? take the + terminal off the battery?

punkindrublic 01-Sep-2003 02:54 AM

never take the positive terminal off... it will spark/ arc and that is not good... if your disconnecting the battery always take hte negative side off first
