Earth ground system

Anyone have one of these or made their own? Im looking for some info on it. Ive been told that all the kit does it centralize a ground point, instead of having multiple ground points, is this true?

Any help appreciated.

Check on Honda-Tech.com because there was a whole thread about this and how to make one of your own. Personally, I don't see that it could make that much of a difference since most people say the Honda electrical systems are quite good already... but hey, if you want to try it and it actually provides some decent results, I'd be interested in checking it out.

Here's some of the threads:

I have done it, and it does work.
Smoother idle, smoother off-idle acceleration, the lights don't dim when idling, and it actually had a decent impact on mileage. I get pretty wicked mileage now.
The electrical system is more efficient, which means the alternator doesn't have to do it's job as steadily. Less alternator work, less work to spin it.
I have designed my own system, and will be selling it.
The kits that are out there are pretty simple for the $$$ spent.
Lets just say that I will be very competitive both for efficiency, looks, and cost.

whats the theory behind it? I mean, in stock form i dont see a prob with the electrical path, and all that would be needed is to upgrade the ground wire from the batt to the chasis, so how does adding a few more grounds upposed to just upgrading the stock grounds to larger gauge help?

Well, the grounds that are on there from the factory are small guage and are connecting to different parts of the body. The electrical characteristics for each ground point is different because the current has to travel across seams, welds, etc.
Believe it or not, steel is not the best conductor when compared to other materials either.
Does that help?

Matt, where do you buy your wire, Home Depot, or elsewhere. Cuz my Home Depot has all these thick strand big gauges... nothing with many many strands.

You want fine strands. The fine strands increase the surface area of the wire, and cuts down on electrical "noise".
If anyone is interested, I have can provide some grounding systems on an as needed basis. If you have priced out the kits that are available, you will find my kit to be very attractive, and more functional...
PM me, we'll work something out.

I buy my wire from this small chinese shop, they have 8 awg for 75cents a foot and 4 awg car audio cable for 1.25 a foot.

Princess auto has 4 awg welding cable for 99 cents a foot, but 4 awg is as small as they go. Maybe they have a princess auto near you.
