Dynoed my 18C1
well, i finally got around to dynoing my whip. i'll post up sheets next week, but for now here is a quick run down...
-18c1 longblock
-OS usdm P73 pistons
-p&p p72 head
-ITR t/b
-AEBS IM
-Fakedata IM heat shield
-S2P1 cams w/S2 cam gears
-4-2-1 header w/2.5" collector mod
-2.5" highflow cat, 2.5" cat back
-oem intake arm w/HKS filter
-stock injectors w/190LPH fuel pump
the dyno was picking up a magnetic signal in the top end of the powerband, so the readings were whacked up top. anything above 7K and the reading went mad. anyway, S2P1 cams don't like to idle. regardless of tuning techniques. believe me, if you don't have patience, don't buy these cams. they make monster power but shake like fat butt cheeks in the winter. i have one baseline dyno that i can maybe scan on Thursday and put up here, but, its incomplete. as for power output, the motor stayed above 130wtq from 2800-7100rpm. this is where the dyno cut off. my baseline chart without tuning was 173whp & 130wtq......but, that was at 7100rpm. these cams make crazy pre vtec power. after the car was fully tuned, it made nice whp pre vtec. i'm talking about 152whp@5900rpm. vtec was set @6K. i was happy. the only problem is that i never got a definative number. but who cares. numbers mean **** to me. anyway, the motor made 185whp at roughly 7400rpm when it was fully tuned, but after 7400rpm the readings were fluxuating. rev limiter is set at 8800rpm. B's, when built properly still make good power. from the plot of my graph, it makes 210whp on this dyno. which is nothing crazy, but, its excellent for a 81.25 x 87.2 stroke motor. i'll keep everyone updated. comments, shout outs, disses & opinions are all welcome.

Good to see u got your setup up and running. Who tuned this bad boy?
Did you get it to idle halfway decent without being at 1200rpms? I have a few tricks up my sleeve for getting lumpy cams to idle decent. Did you tune it with crome? or did you use hondata again on this one?
What are you're cam gears set at? Whats the Lobe Separation Angle of the cams?
210whp is pretty decent for a OEM bottom end, mild CR stock stroke/bore b18c.
Good work C....glad to see this thing done.

c.r. is roughly 11.3/1.
big up to Gord Bush Performance for the entire build and supreme advice & TBone (currently making 268whp all motor with 12.5/1 c.r. and 87.2 stroke) for the cams.
