as long as you don't give it more throttle you'll see a little bit better mileage. But nothing to brag about. To be honest, I didn't even notice any with mine, but it should give you a free more km per tank

IMO you'll probably see around the same difference with switching to a k&n filter. That's how little you gain. And usually when people get "performance" upgrades they tend to drive a little faster.

you do raise a good point about driving faster....but i'm never in a hurry to get to most places.....i love sitting behind the drivers seat and chillin'

and yeah....they do....was thinking of doing some exhaust work somewhere down the line....but right now all my money is tied up in paying for the car....and other people......c'est la vie!

get some pvc pipe, and a 20 dollar cone filter, and remove the restrictor plate type thing from under the dpfi cover, one star screw, its a big flat plate that blocks most of the intake . . . . works great i have found . . .

That will work in theory but as anyone in the gta knows that will also hit you with a 110$ ticket if your get pulled over.

not if all the right connections are hooked up .. . so what drill one hole, and if you take the "restrictor" plate out no one will ever see that

chances where that i was just gonna pick up an intake pipe from crappy tire seeing as i work there and i get my discount....already has the conneection so i don't need to drill anything.

that would give me a short intake....but raises another question...is it possible to by the other piece seperately to make it a long intake?

buddy spend the 59 bucks for a complete CAI, really this is not as big of a descision as your making it out to be . . its a 87 hp dpfi civic . . . . . the only difference your going ot notice is a loud sucking sound, and to hear it you need to be hammering on it . . . so therfore its gonna suck more gas unless you already think 87 hp makes it a race car . . .

1. Pvc piping and any kind of piping will attract attention from cops, meaning tickets...plus it was not meant for that kind of temp.

2. A small ram intake will not do anything to a stock engine other than make a different noise that the stock intake.

3. Spend the 60 or so odd if you really want one and go to pacific mall or ebay and get one that was designed for your car....at least it will look good.

4. You want soemthing that will be cheap and will make a difference and help your car???....NEW PLUGS, WIRES AND AIR FILTER....
