dropzone shocks/struts, lowering spring? any good?

ok, heres the deal. My car is lowered, i need to upgrade the suspension and i have me looking around and i already know that everone says koni yellows or reds. or illuminas or whatever... well, i found these springs that seem to be good and they are designed for lowered rides. Right now, my suspension sucks and i need something that will give me a little bit of a smoother ride than right now.

anyone heard of dropzone? don't just bash right away, but if anyone knows from experience. i mean they are new so it takes a while to get a rep, but how bad could they actually be?

thanks.

people suggest koni or tokico for a reason if other stuff was the best bang for the buck then it would also be suggested

I don't know or have really heard of anyone that has Dropzone products. I don't think they even have a website, but are available on Ebay and a few different sites.

On H-T they have received ok to very bad reviews and no one really liked them. But, H-T members can be pretty harsh on products that are not name brand.

How much are they? If it's anywhere around $400 I'd just get the Reds and be happy for a few years because I know they would last.

well, i could get shocks.stuts and fresh lowering springs for them for rougly $300 to my door... they lower it 2.25 inches in the back and 2.5 in the front... and they have a lot less travel than my stock suspension... like how bad could they really be?

The Reds are adjustable to a point. You can set them to a desired damping rate before you install them, but to adjust them to another rate, they need to be removed. It's not like the Yellow/Illumina/AGX where you just turn a ****.

I'm totally happy with my Reds and that's why I always recommend the for those on a budget or who don't need/want full adjustable struts.

Isn't your car already lowered? You just need struts then and if you don't have that much money, you could get by with a set of used 99-00 SiR struts until you had the cash for the Konis.

persnaly i have heard nothing but bad things about dropzones, i have heard of 1 or two that are satisfied but onyly cause they went with other aftermarket shocks to pair with the dropzon coils.
you get what u pay for usually...

Struts/shocks same thing basically, but Civics have struts. It's a difference in design. Struts often have other suspension components attached to them. Springs for instance.

Anyway, I had SiR sturts on my Civic for a few months and they did feel different then my original ones. I sold them to kwikb16a2 and as far as I know he still has them. Coastermix has a set for sale for cheap.

Save your money and just get some high quality ones (Koni whatever) when you can afford to.

Would you recommend adjusting the Koni Reds before installing them? Or are they good from factory?

how do I know what to adjust them to? I'd rather have something pre-set that I don't have to adjust or ever change.

The instructions they come with or the shop that installs them should know how to make the adjustment. I don't even know what they are set at out of the box. Softest I'm assuming. You could email Koni and ask them. Their customer service is great from my experience.

I know this post is mad old...and since I am looking for coil/shock combo, I have also come across this same set, so I did my own little investigation. Kinda...

2 of my buddies are running on dropzone coilovers and they have had them for over 2 years now. They don't have any problems with them at all. They say its a little bumpy, but they're running these coilovers with stock shocks.

Also, dropzone springs are made by DAD (dynamic auto design). I've seen this company advertised in my buddys car magazines (thats how he first found out about them). If you go on to there website you can look at a bunch of different parts they have for the car too. They're registered with SEMA and all that crap, they give you the low down, Im not a Dropzone REP. Heres the site:

http://www.dynamicautodesign.com/index1.htm

Anyways, just wanted to post that because I've seen alot of posts about dropzones. And there is alot of feedback saying don't waste your money, blah blah, dont down grade a good car...whatever right? They can't be that bad...honestly.
