dropped bit in head
hey guys i was just finishing my motor and i was tightening the headstuds with a bit attachment from a screwdriver and the bit fell of and went into where the camshaft sits the valves on that cyldiner were closed but i heard it drop far and hit something so ive taken the head off the block and the bit is nowhere to be seen any help or tips to find that ****er

get one of those thin magnetic flexable wands
|
anywhere u know i can pick one up?ive also looked in the head and shook the crap out of it im not sure if its in there and its not where the coolant is because i checked there as well
|
have you taken the cam out?
Maybe its on the floor under your car:shrugs: |
thats funny LOL
|
any auto place sells those magnetic poles..
c/t, princess auto,etc |
the motor was not in the car its in my garage and i saw it fall down into the camshaft area but the valves were closed what are the odds it fell into the oil pan.
|
if it fell into the valves area, u still should have pistons between the head and oilpan, it wouldnt be in the oil pan maybe in the cylinder but if u said the valves are closed it should still be somewhere in the head
|
lol thats all i got to say.
|
tough luck i hope you find it!
little things like this that drive you we've all had these moment's |
hahah i went out today and bought a 68cm long magnetic stick that can lift 2.5 lbs lol lets see if i can go fishing
|
update:
i stuck the pole down the oil pan and swung it around and i got the bit out im still not sure how it got down there if the valves were closed tho |
