driver side knock

hey guys when braking hard i hear a knocking kind of sound coming under me. I losened my driver side wheel cause I thought it wa to tight. Anyhow now the the sound is still there but it was louder before I losened the wheel nuts. It a 1999 si with 107,000 any one knows what this can be? I justed started happening, I don't think it's abs cause I felt that before and it does not feel like abs. I just knocks 1-3 times before I brake, but when applying the brake hard, but not slamming it. I never does it when braking soft, just when reaching a sudden complete stop , but not slamming it. what is it?

I have the EXACT same probelm on my car, on the driverside too.
Everyone thought it was the cv joints but it wasn't, you might still want to check out yours though.
On my car it just turned out to be my driver side front brake pad almost worn all the way down and the passenger side one was fine. That's why it only knocked on the driver side.

I had the same thing happen to me, brake pads and rotors were fine, just needed servicing.
