Question Dohc Zc Question???

ey guys ive been reading **** about the Zc engines and its tellingm to put 90+ octane and i have been it sliek1 cent more i put supreme from sunocobut du i have to liek will the car run like **** if i dunt

if it says u need 90 octane then thats what u run...u will prolly get some knockin if u run a 87 octane, 89 you might be fine...and using 94 is just spending more than u need to

I always ran 87 in my sohc zc without any problems

No spekie engrishh..

I think 87 OC is fine for the ZC.. it's not that high a compression motor..

well, in japan theil low octane is our high octane, so I'd use that... at least 91. plus these are old engines by now, so they're more prone to carbon buildup, and hence detonation.

Agree with you there B. After all it is only a civic, and costs you what, less than $5 more per tank? Cheap insurance if you ask me.

For those who didn't know:
From my knowledge, both the Europeans and the Asians have a different way of rating their fuel. Common to them is a RON octane number (Research Octane Number) compared to our CLC octane number (US cost of living council octane number).
91 RON is equivalent to our 87 CLC. CLC octane numbers are generally around 4 points less than RON octane numbers, given the same fuel is tested

i run 94 in mine most of the time but once in a while i use regular with no problems
