dohc zc block + B16A head?
Has anyone every tried this?I know they are both 1.6L engine's but they are different engine's (B and D series) plus they are both dohc motors. Will it even work?

Wont work, 2 completely different series and designs of motors and there for the heads will not interchange. Close thread now.

sure its possible, i dont see why everyone claims it is not possible... so you will have to relocate the head bolt holes, coolant and oil passages, and a ****load of other things, but with the right amount of money and tools, it is perfectly doable.

and stupid. You think you have more Technical know how then honda engineer's? And the engine's are tottally different. IT WONT WORK!!!!You can swap F and H part's because there simmilar block's and Design. The F was the Pedestrian H. A D is an economy car motor and a B16 is a sports car motor. Why would you even want to use a crappy ZC bottom End? You can Buy a whole B16 package for around $1500!!! A ZC bottom end would blow up at those Rev's and with that much power anyway's. That is IF it would work. Don't be a cheap skate. either way you would spend a ****load of money in machining cost's just to make it work. Not to mention the ****er woudl leak everywhere. Get a swap. B18A if your tight on Money. Or be Different(and slow) and Turbo your D. Do a google search and start researching you Honda Blocks. H and F interchanges are pretty neat. And most B stuff interchanges. Or there alway's the D motor if your broke and/or dont' want to go fast.

Not to mention you'd probably need a full machine shop to pull it off. Thrillhouse you should check honda-Tech for this guy's article on his F22 with an H23 head. he took and F22(or F23??) block and bored it out(for Lude piston's) and put a DOHC h23 head on. With stock cams it had liek 167whp and like 190lb-ft of torque!!!!! Big stroke on that bitch. And even though the parts interchange he STILL had a lot of machining to do. With cam's it opened it right up and he had decent power. And he said it didn't leak so he must have done it right.

BTW....lock this thread..................lol

I'm asking for a friend, he has a dohc zc , I have a B16 in my Si.

i;m not saying it is worthwhile, obviously it would be idiotic to do so, but it is "possible" if you really really really want to do it
|
don't waste time and money.. its too stupid..
