hmm, this has been covered before, but ah well

Firstly have you done your alignment? do that first and then ask the guy if you need a kit or not. Likely though, he'll tell you it's unecessary because a 1.8" drop isn't that much, you'll definetely have some negative but not enough IMO to cause insane amounts of uneven tire wear

Yes you prolly need one.

But,

my suggestion is Don't bother to get one.
1.8" isn't a big drop, your camber prolly just off by a little after you do the alignment. For the $ you are going to invest on a camber kit. I'd say save it up for the next set of tires instead.

A little / \ camber actually helps on handling.

My 1+1 cents

Get an alignment done and add some washers in the rear. Dont bother with a camber kit.

YES

civics have no camber adjustment. Sportline Drop means tires get mest pretty quick. It's worth the investment. Progressive suspensions $300 bux also try ingalls. back is not too bad but front is horibble negative camber get the kit you'll be glad you did.

I don't think you'll need one, cuz your stock rims won't be wide enough to rub, i have a 98 coupe with 17x7 rims and 205 tires and i have the prokit and even when my car is full of people it doesn't rub... but to be on the safe side just ask the guy when you have your springs installed, but i think you'll be fine, it's not that big a drop, spend that money and get shocks instead!

rubbing is not the problem

rubbing is not a problem that has never been stated here.
Yes 1.8 inches is not that big of a drop. but big enough
to throw your camber out. it only takes 1 degree for tires
to wear irregular. I have the kit on my car and i really want
a camber kit. i go through tires every 3-4 months on the front. the outside tread is barely worn and the inside is bald. get the kit you will not be sorry.

I agree with fine2ne, i have H & R Sports, which is 1.75 and my negative camber is ridiculous...i bought new tires last year and they're bald on the inside, dude, invest in a kit...its not worth buying tires twice a year...

bottom line is get an alignment done. if you have more than 2 degrees of camber then get a camber kit. it'll run you about $250. anything less than 2 degrees off and you're basically wasting your money.

like i said so many times on this board. ALIGNMENT WILL
DO JACK FOR CAMBER ON A 5 GEN CIVIC. here is basically
the scenario.

Go to shop
tell the guy you want an alignment
he throws it on the machine
comes back and tells you have too much negative camber
OH BY THE WAY YOUR CAR IS TOO CHEAP TO COME WITH ANY
FACTORY CAMBER ADJUSTMENT
what the **** should i do then?
BUY A CAMBER KIT TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND INSTALL IT THEN COME BACK AND I CAN DO AN ALIGNMENT.

SiR-Racer not too sure about negative camber probably somewhere between -1 -2. get it fixed right and save your rubbers.

like i said really good kits.........around $300
never heard of this one http://www.intraxsuspension.com/products.shtml

this one was very highly recomended to me

i realize getting an alignment will do jack to help camber. that's not the point. the whole point of getting the alignment is to SEE how much the camber is off. if it's between -1 and -2 then that doesnt justify spending $300+ on a camber kit IMHO. my camber is in that range and the wear on my tires are minimal. besides, having slight negative camber actually improves cornering.

but if you have money to spare then sure, go ahead and get the camber kit.

once again

siR racer
no offence but if you know your tires wear unevenly due to
neg camber why waste money and have a tech tell you that
same **** after an alignment

yes i do know that it is a give and take with neg camber

more neg camber more hold on corners
no neg camber less hold on corners but tires last twice as long
what do would you prefer.
also to regular drivers a 1 degree difference in camber will not feel any ifferent on the road anyways.

RUKUS get the kit it is money well spent.
i have neg camber and have bought about 4 sets of
tires in the past 20 months

no offence but u just dont get it do you? the reason for the alignment is because if the mech comes back and tells you the camber is off by -1.5 degrees then you say thanks and dont waste your money on a camber kit. getting a camber kit to fix -1.5 degrees of camber is a WASTE OF MONEY.

my car has -1.5 degrees of camber in the rear and i see NO UNEVEN TIRE WEAR. if that's the case why would i get a camber kit??

edit>> you realize that the stock specs allow for +1 to -1 degrees of camber right? so if it's -1.5 degrees that's only 0.5 degrees off. do you know how little 0.5 degrees is?
