dizzy question

is the distributor off of a 92 cx d15b7 the same as a 92 -95 1.6 d series vtec the same ?

imported_gatherer 22-Aug-2003 12:45 PM

I personally don't think so ..... the d16z6 is going to be different I think because of the vtec..... I could be wrong though

white92d15b7 22-Aug-2003 12:54 PM

thank Jay anyone else ?

red90dx 22-Aug-2003 03:52 PM

they work the same....im pretty damn sure..

vtec has nothing to do with the distributor, its the ecu that controls vtec..

thanks red90dx

the d16z6 one would be a better unit as the Z6 motor revs 1000 rpm or so higher...

doesn't the ecu advance timing on vtec slightly as well?? which means the distributor has to be able to handle that

red90dx 23-Aug-2003 10:18 AM

I used it on Jens vtec mini-me swap no problems.

punkindrublic 23-Aug-2003 10:27 AM

who knows then.... the type r ones are way better then the gsr ones

red90dx 24-Aug-2003 05:27 PM

prolly
but would use obd0 sir on a gsr/typeR conv in a crx/civic

I'm almost certain they're the same. Both OBD1.
