disingaging vtec

disingaging vtec

i want to disingage vtec from my first gen b16a, my question is can i do it and if so how (doin it because u need a vtec sensor) any input would be great
ps. its in a ef

yup, just disconect the plug for the VTEC solinoid, but i think your check engine light will appear

little late to do that... maybe he's boosting the car??

if you cut the +12 V wire going into the selenoid vtec will not engage nor will your CEL come on....

the reason is that i need a vtec solinoid and i dont have the time norw money to put one in so this is just a temp thing to get me by till i get a new one

just don't rev past the engagement point until you get the solenoid, or is that too much to ask?

you'd be suprized how little difference there is on a sohc vtec engine

i do drive it below the engageing point but when im crusin down the highway the revs are right at the vtec point, how badly would the car run without vtec, couldent be much difference then what it is now (b16a)

I know it sounded like *** and drove like *** when my friends b16a crx vtec solenoid became disconnected
