Disc Glazing
Okay so I got new crossdrilled disc and Hawk pads and at first I wasn't very impressed with the stopping power.
Then I npticed that the disc looks very glazed. DOH!!! Servers me right for getting too excited and not bedding them in. So, now that I have glazed disc (I think) what should I do? I've seen/heard of people talking a power sander to sand off the glaze. |
dont the pads usually glaze over and no the discs?
|
both I think...
|
i wouldnt sandblast discs...
if they are glazed theres not much you can do. You can de-glaze pads, well sort of with some sandpaper.. but its not going to do much |
take 240 grit sandpaper and put it on an orbital sander, take the glazing off the rotors, scuff up the pads using 120 grit sandpaper, rub the pads in a direction perpendicular to the normal direction of wear. good to go!
